M X y M A G | Jolay is the cinderella Story

I always liked the story of Cinderella. Not so much for the love of a good story but for the love of the message. Here we have a girl whose parents are dead at a young age, can you imagine the trauma a child goes through? The part where they can't stop but thinking that it's their fault? Now add 3 sisters putting you down at any opportunity, calling you names, making you clean up the house after them and then on top of that they steal everything that you own and love?

Kids will be kids, they don't know much better. Usually there is always a person who can intervene but what if that person is jealous herself. The wicked stepmother who doesn't love you and she is only looking out for the interest of her daughters.

Imagine as an individual going through all that in your life and never giving up. Someday comes when you will make it and live happily ever after, all the pain will pay off. I guess the reason I like the story is because as people we all have to go through hard times in order to get to the other side of the tunnel and for many models it's not much different.

I guess essentially if you understand the metaphor then you understand that we are all Cinderella and that the story is a great reflection of what life is if you fight through it. This is not to imply anything about Jolay’s life but she does talk about her Cinderella story in growing pains

INTRODUCE: Hey MXyMag, it's your girl Mz.Sweetz... sit down, get comfortable I'm going to give you a treat and satisfy your sweet tooth!

NUMBER 1: First and foremost my creator

MOTIVATION: Accomplishing my goals keeps me motivated, putting that check mark on the list makes me feel good. And also my adviser ;)  ;)

HATE: Unprofessionalism, my time being wasted, and I absolutely can't stand a lack of common sense. I have a saying that common sense isn't that common..Lol

Fears: Bugs in trees(lol) and failure... it's just not an option

GROWING PAINS: Growing up I was picked on quite a bit because I was thin and tall and according to them I walked really funny(haters). As I got older the name calling for be slim didn't really stop but I love myself and my body the way it is. but the funny thing is that funny walk that everyone made fun of is now my signature model walk and believe me I rip the runway.. And I do mean RIP!

How did you get into modeling?: It has always been a dream of mine, people would always say I look and walk like a model. earlier last year I met the right person who encouraged me to finally pursue my dream. and I couldn't be happier!

What were some recent jobs you booked?: I'm still fairly new to the game however I've recently done the Chris, 2g feat Bennie man Music video, I'm a character for an upcoming comic book(it's a lil top secret so I won't elaborate). Late last year I was a VIP hostess for the billionaire boys club @ the NFL game Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins where I had small feature written up in THE TORONTO SUN with Bills great hall of famer Thurman Thomas. I've been involved in a lot of photo-shoots for various photographers. Fashion shows for Shkank, Goddes boutique and Christopher Sachs. I also do promotion consulting for various promoters around the city and U.S. and in one week may 16Th you can find me ripping the runway for Miss Jackson swimwear line @ Freakum signature being held @ Solarium!

The good, the bad and the ugly of modeling: Where to start.. Pervert photogs I swear some of them go home and well you know…ewww... As fast as the offers come they go away sometimes. The entertainment industry is probably the most unprofessional I have ever worked in one min they want you and the next they don't, it's very superficially. I've been fortunate not to experience certain things however sexually harassment is a big issue as well. I've seen it.. And what people need to realize is that just because some models are eye candy, video vixens etc doesn't mean it’s a free for all! Surprisingly modeling is not as easy as it looks. U see the photo's and say anybody could do that but girl let me tell you it's emotionally and physically demanding.. trust me after an 8hr shoot till 4 in the morning you don't wanna do anything but SLEEP!

models are usually scrutinizes fro being "skinny" and not eating. how do you feel about that? Well first I wanna touch on the word skinny. I personally find it offending.. I mean I may be slim or slender but calling me skinny is just like calling someone on the thicker side fat. I think there's a huge misconception that slim models starve themselves. Now I can't speak for everyone but as for myself I eat like a champ! I have a really high metabolism and that could be the case for many...its NOT that rare. I think people need to step back and picture themselves in the other shoes and remember everyone is different

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” Right now I have my own company that I'm building on and hopefully in 5 years I'll have my 1st million in the bank, and be on top of my modeling career ripping the runway for likes of the hottest designers!

Would you rather "Rippin' the Runway" or being a print model?” BOTH... I love doing both I feel I have a versatile look but If I had to choose just one Most def runway!

High fashion or Urban? : Again both but I really enjoy high fashion and I feel there's a serious lack of black faces in high fashion. Which is crazy to me because we set the tone for high fashion.. We start major trends and that's why I'm collaborating on new High fashion magazine coming out this year.. Look out for it!

Heels or Sneakers? : HEELS!!!!!!!!! I love me some 6 inch heels and I'm 5'9" in flats you do math… lol lol... but don't get me wrong I'll rock a fresh pair of sneakers too

What is one of your flaws or imperfections? : I was a sporty girl back in the day so I have a few scars on me but I wouldn't really call it a flaw or imperfection it’s just me

Sum yourself up in one sentence: a force to be reckon with Sweet , caring and outgoing

Personal style: Chic, uptown, funky, with a twist (shaken not stirred) lol

LOVE STORY: I was in love but I find a lot of men today are very insecure and can't handle their woman focusing on their career and be supportive... It's especially difficult due to the industry I decided to be apart of... It's very demanding of my time. So it will take a very special, independent man to stand by my side and be with Mz.Sweetz.

Promote &THANK You: Soo don't forget to check me out this sat may 16, 2009 @ solarium for Freakum signature, I'll be hitting the runway that night showcasing miss Jackson swimwear. May 22, 23, 24,2009 I'll be @ the international centre for the largest photo expo in Canada. You can find me on stage doing it up with a theatrical twist. Look out for my collabo on new class production magazine, something for the sexy, sassy and always classy and last but not least check out www.jolaysweetz.com for any upcoming events. Website will be launching soon!
